Associate Professor Joel Teitelbaum, who directs the Milken Institute School of Public Health Department of Health Policy and Management’s Hirsh Health Law and Policy Program, was invited to present at the Harvard Medical School’s Equity and Social Justice Program on the topic of “Striving for Health Justice Amid Health Reform Uncertainty.”
His presentation was based on the introduction to his forthcoming book, Essentials of Health Justice. The talk covered the elements and terms that underpin “health justice.” Teitelbaum also discussed trends that could exacerbate health inequities, as well as trends that could promote health equity.
The lectures and dialogs featured in the Equity and Social Justice Program are chosen to provide context to the historical, current, and future state of equity and social justice in health and health care, and they are intended to equip participants with tools to take action.
