Emerging Health Workforce Issues in Times of System Transformation

November 14, 2017

Patricia (Polly) Pittman, who co-directs the Health Workforce Institute at the George Washington University’s Milken Institute School of Public Health, delivered the keynote address at the non-profit, non-partisan Alliance for Health Policy’s Summit on the Role of the Health Care Workforce on November 9th.

Her presentation, “Emerging Health Workforce Issues in Times of System Transformation,” explored how the role of health care professionals, including physicians and teams, are evolving and changing. She also addressed the importance of thinking about workforce incentives being built into reimbursement models. The issues she discussed also include unintended consequences and implications for the continued refinement of payment policies.
